The Story
And so it begins ... Humans, in their scientific wanderings, stumbled upon the world of evolutionary genetics. Although a few protests were made concerning the morality and ethical principles involved, the incredible possibilities created an unstoppable wave of excitement, enthusiasm and research. After a few decades, the fresh appeal of evolutionary genetics and the fervor it had caused died away, to be replaced by a strong cry from the general public to ban all related research. Information had leaked from the laboratories that the mixing of human genes and animal genes had occurred, polluting the human race and several animal races. However, it was too late to stop or repair what had been done. The natural balance and order of evolution and genetics had been upset and skewed beyond understanding. At this same time, travel to the stars had also been possible for a few decades or so. A general consensus was made that the human race as a whole would take to their starships and leave Earth to let what they had done stabilize. They marked Earth as a scientific reserve and commenced with their mass exodus.
Millions of years later ... Several humanoid races have arisen from animal origins. They have independently formed their own cultures based on their natural instincts and the findings of excavations and archeological digs. Four races dominated in terms of intelligence and have made contact with each other. At first, each studied the other peacefully. Later, when it became apparent that each race was on the same level and that one small evolutionary step would result in the greater dominance of all races by one particular race, the Four declared an intellectual war of sorts. Their rivalry with each other has led to the War of Four.
