Jovian Moons
This is a picture of Jupiter in which three of the Galilean satellites are visible. The image on the left is completely untouched (aside from being scaled up). The image on the right was scaled up using bilinear interpolation to smoothe out the pixelation. The center image is the same as the right image, only with another photo of Jupiter superimposed. The overlayed photo was taken with a much shorter shutter speed (1/50") to reduce the glare and give more of an ideo of exactly how big Jupiter's disk is compared to the orbits of its larger moons. As you can see, the original 2" exposure was long enough to make Jupiter appear much larger than it actually is.
